As one of the world’s Seven Summits and the tallest mountain in Indonesia, Carstensz Pyramid rises above the rainforest of Papua at 4,884masl. Located on the west of Sudirman Range mountains, it is the only area on earth’s Equator line that is covered with glacier snow. Experience a true adventure by traversing through a rich cultural trek with the local indigenous tribes, breathtaking views, and challenging climb to the summit ridge.
Gather at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta airport for flight to Timika. Upon arrival at Timika airport, you will be picked up and transferred to hotel, check-in, then free time. Overnight at Timika.
Fly to Sugapa by regular/chartered flight. Enjoy the view of Sudirman Range mountains from the top during the flight. Free time. Overnight at homestay in Sugapa.
Acclimatization day at Sugapa, gear check and trekking preparation. Afterwards, transfer to Suanggama village by motorbike. Overnight stay at Suanggama village.
Start trekking through the beautiful rugged landscape with river streams and lush montane forest of Camp I and ascending to Camp II’s alpine landscape then across the ridges and valleys of alpine plateau at Camp III. Continuing the trek to the rock shelters of Camp IV with its alpine zone elevation.
Spectacular final trek approaching the Lakes Valley Basecamp with its breathtaking scenic view. Overnight at Lakes Valley Basecamp.
Early in the morning, summit attack to Carstensz Pyramid and enjoying sunrise along the way to the top. Afterwards, back to basecamp to rest and stay overnight.
5 days return trek to Sugapa with more opportunity for photography and closer observation of landscape, flora, and fauna. Overnight at Sugapa
Fly to Nabire by regular/chartered flight. Free time. Overnight at Timika
Free time at Nabire until it is time to go to airport for the flight back to Jakarta. End Of Program
